Okay with some shortcomings
Check in was fine, took longer than other places, but the person was friendly enough. Room is sparse, but comfortable. Did run into a couple of issues. For starters, my toilet didn't flush. I called down to the desk - three times - and no one ever picked up. So, I took the lid off the toilet, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it myself. Took about 10 minutes, but was a bit of a pain, and it was super annoying that no one answered the phone. I liked the location, personally, and we walked to several things. We were there in February, and February is not a good look for Detroit. The area around the hotel could use some serious neighborhood cleanup love. I'd stay here again as it was central enough for want we wanted to do.

Many amenities not available during our stay
Nice hotel in a fun area, but be sure to check with the hotel about the amenities. For example, the bar and restaurant we're both closed during our stay and the café was very limited for breakfast (old croissants and bagels). The hotel could also use a touch up in the rooms (loose legs on the tables, loose faucet, chipped paint etc) Overall, a good clean stay, but probably much better in the summer time and if the restaurants are open.

Paper thin walls, hair from previous guest in bed.
Floors are concrete. Hair from previous guest in bed. Toilet was disgusting. Walls are paper thin. There were only 8 cars in the parking lot and the front desk decided to put an extremely loud guest next to us which kept us awake until 2am on a Wednesday. Horrible stay.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times and have only had great experiences, with both the hotel itself and the staff. Only concern this stay was that the only public elevator (that we knew of or were told about from staff) was out of service so we had to use the stairs to the 3rd floor, which isn’t easy with luggage. Otherwise, great stay!
