Clean, safe, convenient location
Safe and convenient location in the Lower East Side. A friend and I shared a private room on the 3rd floor with 2 queen beds. Room was small but clean and well maintained and the beds comfortable. Bring a small power bar if you have a lot of devices to charge. No desk but the lobby is quiet and there's lots of comfortable seating there if you need to work. WiFi is free and reliable throughout the hotel. No coffee shop in the hotel but lots in the vicinity (the best is the Roasting Plant a block south on Orchard). Keep in mind that this is a busy and noisy neighborhood so don't expect a quiet refuge. There is air conditioning in the room, so you can close the windows but you're still likely to hear the sounds of the street below. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Note that the hotel offers both shared (hostel-like) and private rooms. From other reviews it appears that this was not clear to all travelers. Despite the shared offerings, all clientele we met were quiet and well behaved. It's great that this type of relatively affordable accommodation is available in NYC, and in keeping with the immigrant history of the neighborhood. Overall a good value and a recommended option for an inexpensive stay in NYC.

Change of pace for a business trip.
Was in NYC for business. Decided to stay in SoHo this time. It meant taking the subway to the financial district and the hotel didn't have the amenities of a luxury chain, but it was great value. I enjoyed being in a neighbourhood where real people lived. Would do this again. Staff was great. Lots of good places to eat within walking distance. Lots of bad places too; worth checking reviews.

I slept well in the bedroom, and did my work downstairs in the common room.

We had a family emergency out of town and needed a room for 4 people, who aren’t couples, but really couldn’t afford to get 2 separate rooms! This place was absolutely perfect!! It had 2 sets of bunk beds and a big bathroom with an extra deep tub!! And the best part....... it was less than $120!!!! We will definitely be using this hotel anytime we come back down to the city!!

Photos are misleading and the location is horrible but you get what you pay for and for a last-minute Fri night booking at $49 what can you expect ?? Last minute desk clerk asks for $60 deposit, not cool.
