Cool vibe. Great location
Chill euro like reading environment. The staff was very nice when we checked in. Right near Powell books, then bring your book and sit in a cozy reading nook, eat amazing pastries with good coffee the next morning.

Don’t stay downtown
Room was super small. Bad placement of sink in bedroom not bathroom. Door knob fell off, has to switch rooms. AC in new room didn’t work, was super hot because of summer. I would not stay here again. Staff was very friendly though. Downtown was rough with the homeless / drug problem

One half hostel, one half hotel, Ace Hotel is comfortable but not fancy. Shared baths if you're a budget traveler, I am not so I selected a Junior Suite It's a little funky with a record player and nice record selection and I go for those kind of touches. Lots of noisy construction outside while I was there. Portland's coffee shops, breweries and restaurants are at your doorstep.
