Slippery bathroom tile.
Regarding Rm #209. Everything was clean/ comfortable, and handicap accessible, (which we did not personally need). The tile where the brackets of the shower bench attach to the wall were crushed from previous use. There was no plaster or chipped residue on the floor indicating to us this was old damage. The bracket mount seemed secure. We did not use this feature, so it was in the way and even though it could be raised up out of the way for someone to stand to use the shower comfortably, there was no way to secure it up. We did utilize and appreciate the rubber shower mat. There were adhesive non skid safety strips on the slanted floor. The tiles used on the floor of the bathroom outside of the shower area are very gloss and slippery. I awoke to the sound of my husband falling on the floor as he stepped out of the shower. He came down hard on his elbow and hip. He did not want to report this as he was not injured and of course it is natural to feel embarrassed when you fall bare-assed. When I took my shower I put towels all over the floor to prevent slipping. The floor of the bathroom is slanted and the tile is slick: not a good combination and I cannot understand the thinking behind that design. I wondered if others have fallen. The non skid safety strips are thin and too few to do any good. At the least, there should be a warning sign or directions to place bath-mat towels on floor before stepping out onto the SLIPPERY SLANTED floor. Very hazardous set-up.
