Huge mistakes made by front desk!!! Noise too loud
I'm a little disappointed in this hotel. It's a great location, has a very cute 50's art deco theme, but my stay wasn't the best. I had a pre-paid for my hotel and upon check in, the front desk was supposed to charge only for the property tax fee but instead charged me again for the full stay. I didn't know this until checking my bank account the next day and almost $400 is missing. He didn't even tell me he was charging this or else I would've caught his mistake in the moment. This really screwed me over while on vacation. I received my refund a few days later, but I'm still just a little shocked that they wouldn't even confirm what they are charging for when it's such a large amount. Outside of that mistake, it was EXTREMELY loud and you could hear literally everything as if the walls weren't even there. I would not recommend this place or stay again.

Mid-century modern gem.
A great mid-century modern vibe. The staff was friendly, professional and courteous. The room was adequate however, the towels were in need of refreshing or replacement as they were not very absorbent at all...You could tell they had some age and plenty of usage. Other than that, it was a good place to stay and I would return again.

Overall Very Pleased
Despite the rainy weather we were very happy to come back to a comfortable room to unwind after full day of sight seeing. Overall charm of the old place was nice. Up front check in employee and valet attendants as well as passing by cleaning staff were all very friendly and greeted us when leaving and entering the property.

Not a great deal
For that demanded area of Los Angeles, the price was decent comparing to other options around. However if you go out of that area, the price is super high to what you get. This is a motel-style hotel, super noisy (maybe the noisiest I've ever been to) with basic amenities. The reception guys were very welcoming, so that is a plus. But overall not a place to stay more than two nights.

A Great Place To Stay. Clean and Affordable.
They were extremely accommodating. Allowed me to check-in early as I got into LAX in the morning and had to be at an appointment by 2pm. It left me nowhere to change and freshen up. They were wonderful from the phone service to the front desk operator. Got a room cleaned up and ready for me and everything worked out great! There's even a great coffee shop/restaurant directly downstairs so it made getting food easy as well.
