    Terrible stay

Terrible hotel, the room was dirty when I arrived, 3 pm, they cleaned it till 5 pm. The mustiness so bad. The hotel charge you for the parking, even when the web page say it’s included and they wanna send me to the Walmart parking because the hotel was full, I got a place in a open parking close to the hotel and they charge me the same rate ($10 CAD night) We stayed 4 nights and just one day we can have wifi, dirty and small pool and the hotel looks so old in general. The only good is the location close to restaurants and supermarket.

Hotel Amarea is in a great location right across from the Walmart and a short walk from an excellent calm beach. Some rooms have kitchenettes and all rooms have cold air conditioning. The staff is excellent. The pool can be very crowded but is in a nice area with shade provided by an adjacent wall. The pool bar prices are reasonable. The restaurant serves breakfast until noon and the menu I was given was very limited. No bacon. Hot dogs in place of sausage. But the cooks were great and the staff as well. I stayed at the time Corona Virus fears were spreading in Mexico and Acapulco. I was initially on the 15th floor but after one day asked to move due to maintenance issues to the 7th floor. Turns out that everybody was being moved to the 7th floor or lower due to lack of occupation. This was a big inconvenience and in return the room manager gave me two free breakfasts and offered late check out. I did ask for and received a larger refrigerator in the new room so it worked out.

The hotel advertised a gym but none of the equipment works. The pool looked dirty during our entire stay because it was always overcrowded. The floors and elevators always had puddles because people don’t dry off when leaving the pool and the rooms are dark and outdated. Cleaning crew comes knocking on your door every day at 9a.m so don’t plan on sleeping in. This is not a place to stay for more than 1-2 nights max. Only positive was the staff was pretty friendly and tried to be as accommodating as possible.

The bathroom ceiling paint, and room is falling apart, the kitchenete cabinets are falling apart, the whole furniture is outdated, seems like the hotel needs a total remodeling, the pictures do not reflect the true condition of this hotel, I check in at 2.00 pm, which was nice to let me get in the room, one hour before their standard check in time, went outside for sightseeing, returned at midnight, grabed my luggage, and runed away, away, from this hotel found the We Hotel, which maybe a two starts hotel, but much cleaner, than Amarea.
