Disappointing stay at the Moulin Rouge room

This mansion has a lot of potential but unfortunately the room moulin rouge was disappointing. There was so much dust that it triggered my alergies. The dust was very noticeable since the color of the curtains is a burgundy color. Also there was a dead fly on the bathroom curtains, the hair dryer stand had dust as well. The cable tv was not working. There was no wifi. There was a leak on the batroom sink and the bed made horrible squeaky noises every time we would move; besides that the matress was uncomfortable. Before we left, we told the manager “Julian/Michael” about the issues with the room but the information was disregarded. He just offer to move us to another room but we didnt want to have another bad experience. Our 4 days vacation was reduce to a 1 night stay. “Julian” ofered to contact Hotels.com to assist us with a possible partial refund but im not holding my breath, since he seemed upset that we left earlier than expected. Btw: this room has a creapy vive to it, my partner heard noises on the walls at midnight

Beautiful room with friendly and talented owner

We stayed a Saturday night at the Moulin Rouge room. It was beautiful and had everything we needed for our comfort. The check-in was pleasant with friendly manager Sidney. She was nice to let us know that there will be a concert in the Magnolia Mansion in the evening. We found out later at the concert that Sidney was also an owner and a talented musician. We read about the concert before we booked the room; but it turned out to be much better than our expectation. Sidney let us took picture with her and even told us to leave our email address so that she can let us know of next concerts. We forgot to do that though. Hopefully she reads this and get our email address from our booking info. Thanks, Sidney.

    Quirky themed room

We had a pleasant stay at the Magnolia Mansion. Check in was fast and easy. The room was clean. The beds seemed a bit old and in serious need of updating. We had trouble with the wifi. The instructions on the paper did not include the network so we tried the password on all the networks and it didn’t work. No one was available at the front desk to ask questions. Overall the themed room was quirky and we enjoyed our time at the Mansion.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Be mindful, though, there is no 24 hour staff and no management or staff was on site after about 6pm. The mansion is gorgeous and in a perfect location, one street off St Charles and a 2 minute walk from street car stops going both directions. It's about 15 mins to Canal or 20 mins to Audubon Park/ zoo via streetcar. It's also about a 10 minute walk to Magazine street/ Jackson intersection bus stop; there's a Deanie's on that corner and some delicious breakfast options as well. Despite being so close to such a busy street, we heard virtually no street or outside noise from our room (Bordello/ Jazz suite) and slept like babies each night - the bed was very comfortable. There's currently no food being served, but there's a small fridge in the room and a microwave and coffee/ tea station downstairs in the dining room. We took sunset walks every night before settling in and felt very safe. The neighborhood is beautiful with so much history to see and absorb. Also, a 24 hour market on the corner of St Charles and Jackson with some of the best fried chicken and hand pies... We'll be back, for sure.

This is such an AMAZING house!!! We stayed in The Gone with the Wind room and loved it so much we came back later that week and stayed in Napoleon’s Rendezvous. The water never gets super hot but it is an old house so you can’t expect everything to be perfect. Easy access to the streetcar to get to other parts of NOLA. Tons of beautiful houses nearby. The AHS Coven house is a 5 min walk! Love everything!
