    Comfortable, clean hotel

Lovely late break in October. Tbh the beach is the main attraction at Sandbanks. The hotel was clean, staff were friendly. We ate at the Italian restaurant one night and the food was great! We had a room with a balcony overlooking the sea and it was bright and airy, a bit dated but clean.

    Disappointed

I feel the Sandbanks hotel is overpriced and in desperate need for redecorating and repairs. The restaurant was also over priced and the food was very poor!!

Would book to stay for a week/month if we could

The entire staff could not be more accommodating to our needs throughout our 3 day stay. My 8 year old son enjoyed every aspect of the hotel and was pleased with how the staff took their time to acknowledge him and make his stay amazing! Every person we came in contact with who were working on the weekend of 1-3 October, from receptionist (especially Abbey and the brunette lady with long hair), the toilet cleaners in housekeeping (especially Aga and Syewia), hotel room cleaners, swimming pool and gym attendant (especially Steven), the entire breakfast dining staff and the staff at Amalfi Italian restaurant (Michael P, Loe and especially Kellie who kindly sorted my Mussels meal with the Chef) were exceptionally welcoming and informative of the local area. The family room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. One room had a double and the adjoining room had 3 single beds attached to one another. The room felt very spacious, bright and the balcony view was a focal point from the beds. The outside furniture was a perfect addition to the room. The parking was ample but of course we arrived during low season. Despite the stormy weather we were able to enjoy the beach and build sand castles when the rain eased. The outdoor seat in the patio at the front area of the restaurants had fantastic views. The chairs and tables were clean and tidy. All in all, I would book us a stay for another week or month.

3 night stay, hotel rated excellent overall

Attentive, friendly staff. Harbour view room, good condition, comfortable king size bed, a little dated but spacious and views of harbour excellent, good sun trap late evening. Front of hotel but no noise form road. Self service breakfast, good quality and quantity. The Italian themed restaurant Amalfi Beach is excellent, we ate there 2 nights, wide choice of menu, great fish options. We had great weather, so the beach side bar & restaurant just a few steps from the white sandy beach could not be better. Sea was crystal clear, gentle shelving sand, excellent for swimming & other water sports. Promenade walk into Bournemouth, lots of bars, cafes, etc. Rick Steins short walk. Water sports activity centre linked to the hotel. Overall a great beachside hotel, we would certainly book again. Well done Sandbanks Hotel & all staff.

    Anniversary long weekend

Sandbanks Hotel is beautifully positioned on the beach, which is why we booked it. The hotel itself is smart and new in some places but very tired and scruffy in others. Our room was petfect although we didnt like the old fashioned tiled ceiling. It was roomy, large sofa, fridge and balcony. We had a harbour view which was lovely but a little noisy because of the road. We plan to go again but book a beach view room. The corridor was truly depressing! Dirty old carpet, dingy walls, old doors, needs refurbing! We loved the beach bar, stunning views, spacious and elegant, food ok, could be better. We were on the third floor which was a problem as the lift only goes to the second floor. A tiny dark old fashioned lift. They definitely need a new spacious lift that services the whole hotel. The staff are excellent. Very pleasant, helpful and effecient, top marks for them. We will definitely go again and would recommend .

Great spot! Really should make more of the outside area! Was pitch black in the evening with nothing going on on the terrace. Few candles, fairy lights, bar , would make the place amazing!

Very very dated property and really not worth the £325 we spent for one night. The food was ok and the staff were friendly enough.. The see view restaurant was ok but I would consider changing the name of the restaurant as you can hardly see the sea You are most definitely paying for the location and not the hotel amenities Disappointed and would not recommend

The food was quiet good, and staff were friendly, unfortunately there wasn't much else that was good. WIFI Rubbish, TV only 2 channels, balcony dirty with cobwebs and seagull droppings, unable to run a room bill had to pay for each drink separately, the price charged was a rip off, this hotel is not worth more than £100/room/night. Felt they were taking advantage of the staycation and jacking up prices, and they can't cite cleaning as the reason. Hotel has not been updated since the 70's probably, so will not be booking this hotel again.
