HANALEI BAY RESORT WAS AN OUTSTANDINGLY GORGEOUS HAWAIIAN VENUE. The grounds and views rival anywhere on the earth in beauty.

A beautiful facility with gorgeous views of Hanalei Bay and the mountains surrounding the area. Our stay was actually last minute and they were able to accommodate us easily. If relaxing is what you are looking for, this is your place.

Relaxation.. Pure Sweet Relaxation!
Loved the HBR! The resort consists mostly of time-shares so there were hardly any crowds. The pool can be chilly if it's raining as it isn't heated but about an hour of sun is all that's needed to heat the pool up. The grounds are gorgeous and the view from our room was extraordinary (see image). The beach is a fairly long walk down a pretty steep hill- which is why the resort's views are so incredible. the resort provides golf carts to pick you up from the beach and bring you up the hill. the carts were always on time and we never had to wait. the only draw-backs: 1. lack of restaurants- the only restaurant on site opens at 3pm and the pool bar opens at 12. with a kitchenette in our room this wasn't a problem but it's something to keep in mind. 2. lack of housekeeping services- the primary use of this property is a timeshare so housekeeping only comes 1x per week. we knew this going into our trip so we weren't disappointed but again, its something to keep in mind. 3. Princeville/ Hanalei is RAINY- again we knew this going in and actually love the rain (how else could the scenery get so lush?) but i could see how this would be a problem if you weren't expecting it. if your looking for sun check out Poipu, or perhaps even another island. other than that, we LOVE LOVE LOVED our stay and will certainly be heading back! perhaps a timeshare is in our future :)

Good 6.0
This "resort" is not as it appears on the Internet. The room we were given was not what we originally agreed to on line nor was it clean or completely functional. The fold out bed did not work as it should. The frame had been bent so the last 18 inches actually sloped upward towards the end of the bed. The air conditioner units worked but they had irritating noises that annoyed our sleep all night long. There is no cleaning service if you stay less than four nights and the reservation desk is not helpful for anything. My wife and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary on this trip to Kauai and stayed in four different locations on the island. This was the only one that we would not stay at again. Do yourself a favor and find another place to stay even if you have to pay a little more for it.

Great spot - would definitely go back!
Great hotel and amenities! If you like tennis it would be perfect as they have 8 courts. Restaurant is currently closed but they have a bar and lounge which is nice - and I think you should head in to the town anyways. Rooms are good and the one we got had a kitchen. Pool was a little on the chilly side, but beautiful nonetheless.

Very Good 8.0
Hikers paradise! Views are the best!
LOCATION LOCATION, this hotel has one of the best locations for Kauai. The views from our hotel room were spectacular. Since we were on a multi island trip "beach" was not a focal point, hiking and views were. Very lush property, with greenery and views for your camera to enjoy! The hotel itself is in desperate need of updating. Not terrible just it needs it, showing signs of good use! We hiked to some spectacular beaches as the one for this property was not to our liking. Pool area was fine, clean and great pool bar!
