Very Good 8.0
Old world charm near the High Street.
The hotel receptionist/owner was great, offered a wonderful upgrade to an enormous room and luxurious ensuite, and gave us lots of good advice for things to see and places to eat. The setting is lovely. Safe off-street parking in a sheltered courtyard. The full breakfast was overpriced, not the best quality.

Fantastic service in a lovely hotel
I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend, and I'm glad that I did. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful; they even left me something for breakfast because I would be leaving early and would miss the regular breakfast time. This is a lovely hotel, and I would definitely stay there again.

CONSIDER YOURSELVES WARNED
This hotel is not just run down, it is falling apart. In our room the toilet seat was not even fastened to the toilet. The shower door would not close fully so the floor flooded. The window shutters did not close and some were missing. The bed should be replaced. The lighting could best be described as pathetic. There was no air conditioning and opening the window simply let in the hot air along with the city noise. The hot water was dangerously hot, verging on boiling. I would not like to think of children being exposed to it. Not to be totally negative, the people were most friendly and helpful in every way. I am sure it is not their fault that the place needs a total renovation. They did arrange an early taxi to the airport and offered us juice in leu of the continental breakfast. On top of everything else it was very overpriced.

Our lovely stay at Ashtree
We stayed in the apartments and loved it !! Only issue was it was Saturday and the patrons of the pub across the way were having a very good night :) the apartment was clean and welcoming. We were greeted by such a lovely host who was so helpful in providing directions and restaurants

Inconsiderate Hotel during a Pandemic!!
We live in the USA and planned a trip last year to Scotland, France and The Netherlands. Well, we all know what happened this year. Even if I lived in Scotland, the hotel was not open for Guest except Emergency Workers. Yet when my flights were cancelled from the USA they would not refund any of my payment. They did offer a lousy voucher which was only good for a year forcing me to come back to Scotland even though they have no idea what my plans are next year. I lived and worked in Scotland and I find this Hotel's Customer Service very unusual for the Scots!! I own and manage three vacation properties and even a small owner like me is offering at least partial refunds on much more expensive weekly rentals. I can never recommend this Hotel and I am truly disappointed. I will tell this story to all of my retired friends for sure. See you Ashtree!! With customer service like this I wonder if you will make it. If it is not an Pandemic it will be due to poor customer service!!

Friendly and great for money.
The people are extremely nice. The rooms are large. It is clearly an older building and old-fashioned, but for the money and service it is terrific.

Excellent hotel with real character.
Lovely large room, spotlessly clean and really comfortable with the loveliest staff. Delicious breakfast (great coffee). If we’re staying in Paisley again this will be our first choice.

Lovely owners, very chatty and welcoming. Rooms large and comfy. Breakfast was lovely too.

Shabby
Shabby 3rd floor room with an old, springy mattress and dirty walls. Hotel manager was less than friendly, though other staff were quite friendly. Lobby and dining areas are attractive.

Top quality stay at a fraction of the price
A very handsome Georgian building in the grand town of Paisley. Fine medieval abbey and a paradise for architecture buffs. Comfortable, peaceful, clean and spacious. Nice Indian and Italian restaurants very nearby. The Ashtree House owners and staff were immensely kind and supportive. Handy for Glasgow Airport, though frankly you would be better off staying here and exploring the region than flying off somewhere. Good parking. Super breakfast. We will return. Thanks for everything.
