Mixed Review
I have mixed feelings about my stay. The place is in a beautiful location; the breakfast was very good; the hotel is undergoing renovations but there are a few negatives about my experience. I didn’t see any eco-friendly features in the room, but most importantly I booked a room with a queen bed but was gives a room with a double bed which made the sleep uncomfortable, and when I made a comment about this at checkout, there wasn’t much offered to me, not even an apology. Additionally, the room was tiny, there was no place to put anything out, and this room should not have been sold as a 2-person accommodation. I truly didn’t expect this type of a room from the hotel of this caliber.

8/10 Very good

Beautiful and grand hotel. Loved the big heated pool and the outdoor games. Nice little hiking trail on site. The views are immaculate. The room was very European. Small and we had a half renovated room 132. It was furnished nicely and the bed was super comfy. It was just tight. Small washroom and very outdated. No closet space and no fridge or microwave. We were told the electrical grid was being upgraded but this made bringing our own food and drinks inconvenient. The ventilation in the room was poor as every day it was damp after showering. The windows were very old. But there was charm all over the hotel. It is a 3 min drive to downtown Digby and close to the lighthouse. Overall it was relaxing stay. The restaurant on site was also very good. I liked that there was washrooms in the halls which were very clean. Very historic. Loved it!

Not impressed
I was very disappointed with our stay for the price we paid. We stayed during A Digby motorcycle weekend and I know the room prices were raised. I was not impressed with our room as it was so small, we hardly had room to walk around the bed. The room was clean however I did not like seeing stains on the carpet. For the price we paid it should have been a 4 or 5 star but I would give it a 2 or 3. We did have breakfast at the hotel the first morning ( it was not included with our stay). It was a buffet breakfast and I am sad to say everything was cold. It certainly wasn’t worth the $19 ( per plate) that we paid. On the bright side, the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

There is an air of historical significance and goodness here! They are trying to fix the place up after a hard couple of years. Love this place hope they can keep up the charm. Would be helpful to have a shuttle from the golf course. The meals were excellent.

Parking was a nightmare at checking in, very limited seating at restaurant, room very dated, carpet dirty, air conditioner very noisy, shower temperature very wonky . Pool was nice along with the ground’s area.
