The hotel is owned by the Huron Wendat First Nations, and is apparently a part of their sustainability strategy. Their cultural history Museum is attached to the hotel, but there is a separate charge for it. The restaurant was wonderful; it served meals featuring traditional Huron Wendat foods including the three sisters of squash, corn, and beans. We tried the venison and it was wonderful. The room featured a variety of decorative touches emblematic of the first Nations heritage. For instance, there was a beaver pelt on our bed. We stayed two nights and we’re a little surprised when the room was not made up for the second day. Most tourism oriented businesses including hotels continue to struggle for staff, and are still attempting to recover financially from the pandemic. So will give them a pass on this, and consider staying here again in the future.

A magnificent opportunity to take in the Wendat first nations cultural contribution to Canada. Hotel was a very beautiful interpretation of their perspectives. Having staff like Tania Lee (spelling?) was a treat. The attention to detail welcomed my wife and I to explore. In particular we enjoyed visiting the "long house" onsite.
