Montreal Pride 2019
My boyfriend and I went down to Montreal to celebrate the Pride events that was going on the past weekend. So, we were excited to book our stay here, primarily due to the location and the modern atmosphere of the hotel. However, when we got to he hotel, we noticed a few things. We discovered that the pictures make the rooms look bigger than they actually are. There is a giant mirror that makes the room look bigger, and the bathroom could've been a tad wider as well. Also, there was mircodamage all over the room (floorboards, cupboards, shelves, and chips in the bathroom sink) and the floors had a "grimey" feel to them all throughout. A few things to note, the ice machine is located in the basement level and never had ice in it. Furthermore, if you're driving, plan to park somewhere else. The hotel is located near a busy intersection and it's difficult to find parking there. We had no choice but to use their vallet service and they charge $28 per day to leave your car with them. Ridiculous! I was not even made aware of this charge otherwise I would've made different travel arrangements. Overall, decent hotel that's within walking distance of much of the city, the convenience store in it was great, helpful / friendly staff, and a good vibe regardless; thankful we got this hotel on discount to he honest.

A great no-frills place to stay
This hotel is in an excellent location to have fun in Montreal. It is 10-15 minutes walk from almost every summer activity around; Just For Laughs Festival, Old Port of Montreal, Quartier des spectacles and many more fun activities. Our hotel room felt cramped, but was clean and had a great view.

Poor 2.0
Ruined my mom’s birthday weekend.
If you are ever looking for a hotel in Montréal, I never recommend you stay at Hotel Zero 1. My mom drove 400km to pick me up in Ottawa so we could both stay in Montreal overnight for her birthday. We dropped our manual/standard car off with the valet service, and the next day we picked up the car at noon. The second we start the car my mom immediately notices the stick-shift is loose. Turns out the valet attendant fried the clutch when he was switching gears, as he probably wasn’t very apt at driving stick. I immediately raised this with the supervisor who was CONDESCENDING as hell, telling us to figure out the issue for ourselves and that their attendant could not have done this. He claims the attendant got in the car yesterday and noticed the clutch was loose, then drove it anyway and verified it afterward with another attendant. INSTEAD of immediately reporting a “loose clutch” so that it was evident we were at fault, he parked the car and just returned it the next day. This immediately tells me the attendant is at fault, as if the fact we drove 500km with no issues was not already an indicator. Only the Hotel GM was semi-helpful I must note, but now my mom’s birthday weekend is completely ruined. We were supposed to spend the rest of the weekend together in Ottawa, now she is waiting hours for her car to be towed to Mississauga to be repaired. No car, no birthday celebrations, and now I too have to rent a car separately to drive myself to Ottawa. Thanks, Hotel Zero

Great area, customer service slightly lacking
The location was great, within walking distance to interesting neighborhoods. The room itself was larger than even expected with a nice view. Cleanliness seemed good. Atmosphere-wise, I do wish the walls weren’t painted so dark and there were a weird number of mirrors. But that’s not a huge issue. Only genuine problem was that there was a water leak in the room above ours, which resulted in water leaking from our ceiling into our toiletries. The staff weren’t especially helpful about this and only offered a meal voucher we had no use for. (I was later able to get a credit from which I appreciate.) The plumber they said would be coming never showed up and the cleaning person seemed put out when she had to come mop up the leak. So the customer service could’ve been a bit better but the problem itself wasn’t too bothersome. I’d still stay here again.
