Unique sleeping arrangement, you sleep in a bed closet, like they have in Dutch farmhouses. You need a fair amount of physical flexibility. Bathrooms are communal like a hostel. Clean, neat, quiet, safe, friendly. Amazing location, right behind the Concertgebouw, one of the greatest concert halls in the world, and two world-class museums: the Van Gogh and the Rijksmuseum.

My first stay at a hostel, and the sleeping cupboards were a great start! I loved being able to lock my pod for the day and not have to wrestle with lockers. (Though it’s always smart to lock your luggage in the room). The bathrooms were very nice and always clean. The staff was so kind and helpful, and the location was amazing. It was steps to the museums and some really good dining. The tram was also super close, which was so convenient! My ONLY complaint would be that while quiet hours were 10-10, which was great, they weren’t enforced on the top floor. So multiple times there were very loud and inconsiderate people through the night and early in the morning. I’ll also be requesting a bottom cabinet next time. I’m far too old to be climbing in and out of bed in the middle of the night. Haha! Other than that, the stay was great, and I’d definitely stay here again when we come back to A’dam!
