A Room With A View
This was a 4 day solo "break" and my first time in the large densely packed city of Marseille. Given my tenuous grasp of French and the somewhat chaotic attitude of the city to things like consistent street names, I could have been in trouble. But the staff at la Residence was magnificent. Their friendly competence and thorough knowledge ensured I came away with great memories and what will become treasured souvenirs. My room was just about perfect: comfortable bed, nice shower, a juliet balcony, amazing view and a 5 minute walk to essentials like great coffee and excellent restaurants. The places I wanted to see were easily accessible by foot or public transit (which was essentially across the street.) I think I will return to Marseille and if I do, I cannot imagine staying anywhere else.

Very Good 8.0
Value for its location.
Hotel neat, with a modern eclectic interior that you will love or hate. The main attraction is the location on the revitalized waterfront. I had a harbor view room and it was great. Can be noisy around dinner time. Negatives -horrible carpet, shower is not fully enclosed. English TV limited to Bloomberg and CNBC. Rather thin walls and floors.

Amazing balcony with views
Amazing view over the port and Norte Dame de Garde and a very nice balcony. Staff very friendly. Temperature of room a bit high during the night (in full winter) and shower didn’t always have hot water

Perfect in every way
Stayed here twice now and can't speak highly enough of the staff at reception. Very courteous and helpful. Rooms facing the old port have an amazing view and double glazing blocks dulls any street noise so sleeping is no problem. Bed very comfortable and decor reminded me of a Miro painting - colourful and bright. Spotlessly clean and superb location
