Good location, but no security
Good location of hotel, close to Victoria Rail and Coach Stations. However, security at the Victor Hotel is non-existent. I was given room number 3 in the basement. The window was open and had metal bars on the outside. Imagine my horror when I heard a man's voice close by, followed by his face appearing at the open window, his arms through the bars pulling back the curtains. I closed the window and tried to lock it, but to no avail. The lock was broken. I immediately called the front desk and got no reply. Then I ran up the stairs to reception and explained the situation. The desk clerk was quite nonchalant and said he could not change my room as the hotel was full. I asked about security, and only when I insisted did he find a screwdriver, go down to the room and fix the lock on the window, which was then shut tight. A horrible and frightening experience for me as a senior female travelling solo!!

Short stay
Booked a night here since it's just a short walk to the Victoria Coach Station. Checking in and out went smoothly. The room is a bit small but fine for a solo traveler. Only small issue in my room was that the floor was extremely squeaky. Besides that, a great place to get a good nights sleep.

Great little room. It was a little hot and the shower had almost no pressure but that's ok. My only complaint was I could hear my neighbor blink. And I had a friend come up briefly so I can drop off my backpack and change shoes before going for a walk to see more sights and they phoned my room and expressed concern that I couldn't have anyone in my room after 8pm.

A handy well located, good value find
I read a few reviews before staying here and they were all very positive although many spoke about small rooms / not too much space, so i was expecting a tiny room as I booked single. But I was pleasantly surprised, I stayed in room 18 on the third floor (loads of stairs but good for excercise 💪) and the room was plenty spacious inclduing the bathroom. Plus it had a fab view. It was clean and well maintained. I felt like a hand towel may have been missing but in the interests of the environment I guess one does do. There is a handy Nisa Local shop just round the corner plus a yummy Thai takeaway / restaurant- Pimlico Thai. (I had the Massaman 🍛) The staff are friendly and welcoming and I would absolutely stay here again. Breakfast was pleasant and reasonable if purchased in advance.

Disappointed
The location was the best feature, being within walking distance of two tube stations, a convenience store and local eateries. The breakfast was purchased the first morning only of a 5 night stay-nothing for gluten free, and, not a cooked breakfast, cheese, ham hardboiled egg cucumber tomato all left out as a buffet-yikes! Orange juice was not fresh orange juice but diluted squash. The room we had was in attic, 5 floors no lift but we were able to move to second floor, dining room in basement also with stairs. Not a suitable hotel for those with walking problems. Staff were courteous. Room was clean but small-expected of building design of this age.

We were put into a basement room (02), which is located directly beside a staff room. beginning at 7am there was constant noise coming from that room which was VERY disrupting to what was supposed to be a relaxing trip. there was a landing right outside of our window that people were partying on all night long, we not only prevented us from being able to sleep but also made us feel very unsafe as the lock on our window was not very strong to realistically those people could have easily broken into our room. there might as well have not been any pillows on the bed as they were paper thin. the room is very outdated and could use some updating. the toilet ran after it was flushed unless we jiggled the handle. after a long day of travelling we were both exhausted and once we got to the hotel with 4 big suitcases we were told we had to go down the stairs to our room and were offered no assistance. overall the hotel staff were pretty good though, not too many complaints with them. will definitely never go back to this hotel though.

It was a nice hotel but we took my parents and it was way too many stairs for them we should have requested a low floor now we know for next time

I will not back there again
In my opinion hotel maybe have one star if have any. Maybe guy from reception try to be nice but his English was bad and he explain me some things few times so I spend my time listening to him. To long time for check in. No elevator is big minus. It was dramatic climbing on the top floor with a lot of heavy bags. Breakfast is included but nothing special. I came last one hour and was almost empty. Coffee machine not working. 10-15 min walk to Victoria Station.

The positive aspects of staying at the Victor Hotel: 1. The location is ideal for seeing places like the Tate Art Museum, Parliament, Buckingham Palace, and Westminster Cathedral. This is also only about 2 blocks (or perhaps a little less) from Victoria Station, from whence a person can go just about anywhere in London. 2. The staff were friendly. 3. ur room was very quiet, given the hotel is in the middle of a very busy area. Negative aspects of staying at the Victor Hotel: 1. The bathroom and the bedroom were very small. 2. The beds were hard. 3. We were on the 4th floor (at least one floor was above us). The stairs were very narrow, but there was no lift, so this is not amenable for anyone who has mobility issues. 4. The rooms were of about average, or slightly below average cleanliness. 4. The breakfast was not England's finest. They offered two sittings, but it was self-serve, although again, the staff were friendly and hospitable.
