Grand Wailea Maui, A Waldorf Astoria Resort
"The overall experience was very good. On arrival we were very disappointed to see that the “lei greeter” was no longer a thing at this property. The greeting and the lei were great ways to get us into the aloha frame of mind. They should consider bringing that back. Also, the registration used to offer refreshing cool water during check in. During the hurricane lala storm our sliding glass door would not seal. We had a very loud screeching all night. We finally had to open the door. The screeching stopped but then the storm noise was also loud. Sleeping was very difficult. Our next door neighbors did not have that noise problem. The gardens are very well maintained. The pools are very nice. It seems the water elevator has been broken for awhile. Elevator access to rooms in two towers were serviced by only one elevator. The other has been broken for weeks. We had long waits going up and down between the rooms, lobby, and pool area."
Wailea Beach Resort - Marriott, Maui
"Our room met and exceeded our expectations! We were greeted with beautiful leis and a cold refreshing tropical drink. Then, I was pleasantly surprised when they knocked on our door, welcomed us to our room and gave us a plate of their delicious homemade banana bread with a crispy coconut and nutty-topped crumble and a side of liliko butter! Yum! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Their team would text us to make sure everything was perfect! I asked for a microwave and they provided one. I asked for extra hand towels and they brought it right away. They offer activities throughout the week every day- all free, like the rejuvenating sunrise yoga class I took one morning! I loved their adult-only infinity pool! We also had fun going down their big slides and taking pics under their waterfalls. We walked from one end of the beach to the other end! The Beach Resort Marriott is a beautiful property!"
Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort - a concept by Hyatt
"The Andaz is tremendous multilayer property. The staff is a hit or miss. The beach service is sourced out and closes at 4:45. The regular rooms face the parking lot. You cannot self park. Adding a $50 daily charge."
