Mount Malleberg workout
There is no lift because it’s an historical building. The stairs to the rooms become more narrow and windy as you proceed higher. With several heavy suitcases it was very difficult. The room at the top was quite dark. The location to the main square was excellent. We can not say that the staff was unfriendly but certainly not easily accessible to chat with. Parking with a car is a few blocks away at a public parking lot. There are several other larger hotels right near by so it’s worth checking into the price difference and decide if you want to stay in a very old historical house or new modern hotel. If I had smaller suitcases I would say.. go for it but not having help to get them upstairs was definitely a problem for me.

A great hotel
We stayed here for a short break of two days. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. Room was ideal for what we needed, comfortable and clea . We drove straight to the hotel and after checkin were directed to the car park a few minutes walk away. Hotel is 200 meters from main square and 100 meters from the boat cruises. Bars and restaurants were in abundance and close by. We’ll be back.

Malleberg - time for an upgrade
We had room 8 on the 2nd floor. Bed comfortable and clean, however the room was quite dark and tatty. Bathroom fairly clean but would benefit from an upgrade as would the decor and furnishings in the bedroom. Breakfast in the cellar/lounge room was very pleasant. Continental breakfast plentiful and lots of choice. Could easily hear other guests in their room and bathroom! Building is interesting and could be really magnificent if the rooms were renovated. Good area placed centrally for the main square.

A lovely hotel in the heart of Bruges
The Malleberg was a very comfortable hotel, with excellent service and a superb location right in the heart of Bruges. We received a warm welcome and clear directions to our room, which was a decent size and was clean and well-kept. Breakfast was included and the selection of cereals, breads, meats, etc. was kept topped up throughout the two hours it was open. When we had a problem with the safe in our room, it was dealt with quickly. There was a kettle in the room, together with coffee sachets but only one teabag (so it was a good job we'd taken our own). The TV was almost just below the ceiling, so it wasn't that comfortable watching it, but then we didn't have it on for long as we weren't in Bruges to watch television! Overall it was a lovely hotel and one that we'd happily stay in again.
