The place itself smells odd lik cigar smoke and some unpleasant stuff. Lots of questionable people hanging around. I just didnt feel comfortable so I checked out asap.

The receptionist/ owner I presume was so rude and took 250 for dd and as we wanted to leave at 9:15 he wasn’t in the office and trying to get hold of him seem to be still sleeping told me that he may be in until 10:30 or 11 with out explaining and didn’t wanna give me the dd back until I got mad and wanted to called the police I was leaving bc and had to call him several times was the worse person I have meet and there’s a lot of weird people always hanging around felt really uncomfortable and unsafe

I have been staying at the schell motel every year for the past 6 years to visit my grandparents in Vernon and wow has this place gone to the dumps. The first room we were given wasn’t cleaned, and clearly had been smoked in as well within being there for 2 minutes we had a homeless gentleman knocking on our door. We then transferred to a room upstairs which had cigarette burns in all of the bedding. And again had homeless people banging on our door at 7 in the morning, my daughter and I felt extremely unsafe. Clearly the drug addicted homeless have now moved into this motel, and the staff don’t do anything to maintain it. The pool wasn’t cleaned and filled with leaves plus we had to open it ourselves in the middle of the day. We will never stay here ever again, I miss the little old lady who used to run the motel. She was amazing. 10/10 do not recommend staying there.

These units need a LOT of work. Not enough outlets. The one behind the TV has 6 things plugged into it including microwave and fridge. Bathtub does not drain. Desk and furniture way too large for the size of the unit. Can get to the few outlets they have. Volume on TV did not work with remote so sound was full blast Has 12 cup coffee maker and they supply 2 individual coffee packets typically used in individual cup machines.

The room we stayed in had bugs in the bathroom. The room smelled like an ashtray, it hadn't been cleaned in at least two week from all the dust/dirt and past guests receipt on the floor. The floors were so dirty that threw out the socks when had worn inside because they turned pitch black and we had to wear our shoes inside for the rest ofnthe stay.

I slept on a pull out bed but there was no sheets or pillows for it. I went to the drive-in and didn't get back till 2:00 so couldn't tell anyone, too late. I did inform manager in the morning. They did nothing to compensate me for the mess up. I had a terrible sleep and needed a 4 hour nap the next day. I had to use the blanket off the double bed to lay on and the bedspread as my blanket. The chairs by the pool were broken.

Meth head/ Pill Popper Heaven! Stay Away!

First of all, I have never actually taken the time to leave any kind of a review for any hotel found on Hotels.com other than a thumbs up! Unfortunately the Schell Motel also known as Vernon's Grand Central Station for dope deals, is by far the absolute worst hotel/motel, I have ever come across. For comparison this place is on par with the former Albany and Barry Hotels in Saskatoon, (Google for reference). To say I was deceived by the pics on the internet would be abit of an understatement. On day 1 of our "family trip" I was greeted by the two trolls that "manage" this dump. About an hour later while I sat on the patio after unpacking, I watched the female troll lean the hood of my truck with one of their many "longterm tenants" aka meth head/pill popper and then proceed to start writing on the hood of my $80k truck! After I called her out from the patio and walked down the stairs to see the damage, she first tried to deny writing anything then immediately admitted to her stupidity. On our first night I must have witnessed atleast 50 drug transactions take place out of suite 101, aka Vernon's #1 drug dealer as my neighbor Jon in suite 207 put it. In the am after grabbing a Timmies and while waiting for my wife/kids to wake-up I sat on the patio and watched "my"/ "your" tax dollars hard at work, as the paramedics administered Narcan! Male Troll is fully aware of this BS, and is 100% ok with it! He says they're slowly moving them out. Liar! Hotels.com should be ashamed!
