In case it escaped the notice of the Hotel, we were not there for our scheduled visit to the the pandemic in the world! It was not possible for us to fly to Paris & be assured that we could return home to the US. As of now the EU has closed all it's borders to those of us in the US and there is no indication of when the pandemic will ease or the borders will reopen. I asked for a refund to due these extenuating circumstances and was only offered a voucher. This was not satisfactory as we do not know when or if we will ever be able to return to France. I have stayed at the Hotel Saint Jacques before which is why I booked it. I am unhappy with their response in the midst of a crisis and will never recommend them to anyone again!

Updated but still classic
We stayed in a room on the 5th floor and we could see Notre Dame and the Pantheon! There is an elevator so that makes it easy. We were warmly welcomed and the receptionist as kind enough to help me practice my French even though she spoke perfect English. Clean and updated but still with a classic feel!

As usual, the majority of the staff was friendly and helpful. One staff member failed to let anyone know we would be gone overnight. Others were worried something had happened to us. We appreciate being able to check in when we arrived in the morning and having a room with a walk-in shower as requested.

Our room was on the 6th floor and newly remodeled. For a Parisian hotel, the room was spacious and the bathroom was modern with a full size shower and rain shower fixtures. The breakfast included smoked salmon, cured meats, specialty cheeses beyond Swiss and cheddar, eggs, yogurt, and juices. Complimentary wine every evening topped off the day. Easy walking distance to restaurants, food and cheese markets, and transportation. Great location in the 5th. Staff were helpful and professional.
