Notting Hill Gate Hotel, London

Location is not so bad. I walked from the Paddington station and it was good 20 minutes walk. Room was the smallest room I have ever seen. If you are taller than 6' you will have a trouble. The room has everything though. One thing I really liked is that the room has tiny private bathroom. It was tiny but private one. Room was small, but it's basically how much I paid for. Overall, I am satisfied with the hotel.

It was a perfectly good hotel, no frills, however. It's within walking distance to Kensington Gardens, and offers clean rooms and friendly service. The basic breakfast is good, but get there early as there is little seating!

Not great not bad. Remember this hotel would not have been acceptable if you were back home but this is London. For London this was a good hotel. In London, do not expect large hotel rooms unless you want to pay a lot of money. The sinks were the smallest sinks I have seen anywhere in the world. For me, location is most important and this hotel was only a 5 minute walk to the tube or underground. Once on the tube, only a 15 minute ride to Westminister. All the staff were friendly however do not expect to meet any native "English" people working at the hotel. All were foreign, speaking foreign languages, but they all spoke English and were very friendly and accommodating. It made me want to go visit Romania. The big PLUS about this hotel was that there was a front desk open 24 hours. I found this to be very helpful. The only negative thing may be particular only to my room was that there was a big hole in the floor and may be dangerous at night going to the bathroom. I can't imagine that all of the rooms have this. I do not know how to describe this hole but I took a photo of it (see below) as it was the strangest thing I have ever seen. In the hallway from the bedroom to the bathroom there is a a hole or more like a step down box area of about 2 feet which can be really dangerous at night. It is probably only in my room but as a result I did request for a change of room. It would not prevent me from recommending this hotel.

Very nice and pleasant. Sadly no Vegan breakfast choices.
