The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. The room is very clean, reasonable size, and the shower is great. The breakfast is excellent. There are many wonderful restaurants and gelato places within few minutes walk. Within 30-35 min walk to the colosseum, Vatican and the Spanish square. We really enjoyed the stay. The wifi signal is a bit weak inside the room. So if you want to stream any video, could be an issue, The Trastevere area is vibrant, lots of graffiti but very safe. We really like the area.

What a lovely hotel! Clean, beautiful and comfortable. All amenities are thoughtfully placed: outlets, wall hooks, towel racks. Breakfast was super- scrambled eggs, prosciutto, pastries, coffees-served in a courtyard with orange trees. Highly recommend!

Actually the property looked very interesting, historic, with a charming garden and very helpful staff (at least Adriano, the receptionist, who was the only person I interacted with). Unfortunately, Expedia sent me a reservation verification but when I arrived, there was no reservation and no possibility for a room of any sort at the hotel. The Santa Maria manager said that they had informed Expedia that they were fully booked, but Expedia gave me a reservation anyway. I lost two or three hours of time as the receptionist and I called a dozen places until we found a hotel that had a vacancy at a similar price. Keeping in mind that the last 500 meters from the taxi drop-off point to the hotel consisted of a cobblestone pedestrian walkway that I had to carry luggage by myself through, I was extremely disappointed and unhappy with Expedia's providing me with a bogus reservation. But, the hotel looked very appealing.

This hotel is one of the best I have stayed at. The grounds were beautiful. The staff really makes your stay great. They are all so friendly. The bed was quite large and the grounds were safe and the location was very walkable to fun areas! And the included breakfast was great and the happy hour buffet included with purchase of a drink was a great deal for a snack. Cheers to bartender Kevin who explained different Italian wines to me and allowed me to practice my poco/limited Italian on him!
