Disappointed
My parent’s room was fine but mine was clearly not cleaned properly. The trash had the previous guest’s trash still in it (including something with his name), the floor was dirty, the bathroom sink and toilet was still dirty from the previous guest as were the tables in the room. The person at the front desk at the time didn’t seem to take me seriously but the housekeeping staff member did and I appreciated that. Also, the person at the front desk the next day was great and checked in with me. They made it right by putting me in another room but it was disappointing since it was on a much lower floor with not as nice of a view. Could have been handled better overall.

Being a Fourth of July weekend, you would think that the front desk would know what activities were going on in town. I asked for a good place to go they sent me to a hole in the wall. Indicated that they were not a Fourth of July weekend kind of hotel

Less bang for the buck
Valet service is frustrating here. I think I'd prefer if it went back to self-serve parking like it started out. They only had 1 person servicing a busy Friday morning, when they knew how many people were checking out. There is no more in room service, either, which left us with wet towels. Coffee service is useless. Overall fairly clean and the shower was good size.

No housekeeping...but otherwise fine
The hotel is just fine. Nothing extraordinary, a little dated, but clean enough, nice enough, and in a good enough location. For the price this time of year in Asheville, it's more than should be expected. I booked not knowing much about the hotel since it was the only place available when I booked my trip. My main issue was not knowing until I arrived that there is NO housekeeping during your stay. None. You can ask for some extra towels and soap, but nobody is coming to take your trash, change the sheets, make the bed, etc. Ever. I was there for 5 nights and am pretty tidy, so it wasn't a big issue, but I have never come across this, and for $300+/night, I think they could do better. Front desk and Valet guys were great. Valet can get very backed up at peak times, but they do their best and all of them were very helpful. Location is great but a 0.5mile walk to basically everything, which is fine if you like to walk, but other (more $) hotels are definitely better situated to downtown. While I think the Indigo was just fine, I would likely look to book elsewhere in the future unless I was looking to save $. This time of year, the "prime" hotels can get VERY expensive.
