Good location in centre town
I booked a room with kitchenette particularly as I am travelling from a distant country and found no jug or kettle, no cutlery, 1 bowl and a rusty saucepan, not good enough.

you get what you pay for
We are budget travellers and were attracted to the price. Downtown MTL in mid-summer is expensive. We knew we'd have to share a bathroom but not that we would be two of eight. The kitchen had no equipment to speak of, so only the fridge was useful to us. Our rooms were clean but the bathroom not so much. We only hope that the students who live in this residence during their studies have better experiences.

No more cheaping out!
I've stayed here twice before in shared rooms and they were fine, however make sure you AVOID the STUDIO option! The room was dirty, dusty, smelly and down right bad. I asked to change rooms three times, luckily the staff was willing but the rooms never got any better. It was too late to get a refund so I had to suck it up. The bed was disappointing and I ended up sleeping on a towel on the top. Definitely would not reccomend to anybody else... pay a bit extra for a lot better!!!

The place overall was kinda OK, but it did not live up to the way it was advertized.
The staff had a "laissez faire" attitude
The room was OK, but the shower was a disaster, to take a shower you basically "flooded" the room, only a curtain which did not work at all, no "walls" ....
If you wsant to be close to "old Montreal" and don't mind some small inconveniences, go for it

Clean, cheap, convenient
The Residence is located conveniently close to St Catherine St's Place des Art area and the Gay Village. Sparse but adequate for a short stay the staff are helpful, the room clean, the space quiet and secure feeling. There is wifi in the lobby.
I intend to stay there for future summer visits to Montreal. Great cost effective deal for a short stay.

Location couldn't be better, hotel stay a slight d
Awesome location but staff were extremely slow with check in line, didn't have a studio ready for us so we had to wait 45 mins for it to be cleaned. The fridge and stove were broken and they told us there is nothing they can do. Good for a stay if you're not picky, but don't expect much.

Like a hostel. Cheap and great location.
Feels kind of like traveling in a hostel. You are sharring the space with other people. The "room" you book consists of numerous smaller bedrooms and everyone shares the common space and bathrooms.
If coming in late and you are being loud, you will disturb other people, as I discovered first hand.
It is very cheap though, and it's good if you like the idea of meeting other travelers.

Really only good for Festival Staying
Be aware when you stay - THIS IS A DORM BUILDING
If you are looking for a hotel, this is not for you. While I did stay in a room that had a private bathroom, this room was what it was, a dorm room. I came to Montreal of Osheaga and knew I would not be spending much time in the room. Its location was perfect for taking the public metro (BERRI-UQAM).
There is no AC nor Wifi, but it was cheap as well - so you pay for what you get for sure.
Although it wasn't a hotel stay - this arrangement was very good for the festival weekend that I stayed at it for.
