We checked in on a weekend when the room card keys were not working and while it was troublesome the staff were amazing at making us feel comfortable. Pros: - Good Service and friendly staff - Amazing bar and restaurant - Great location Cons: - Rooms are dated

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. We were celebrating our recent engagement and the property was kind enough to upgrade our room as well as have a bottle of champagne and brownies waiting for us. The staff was all lovely and everyone was very kind to our dog. Would highly recommend.

A friendly, value for money stay

We had a lovely family half term break. The room was clean . The front of house staff and catering staff were great. They were dealing with huge numbers of people and remained calm and friendly. The understaffing of reception did mean there were huge queues . I'd suggest that a different system is employed to give towels and pool pass during busy time. Also it needs to made clearer that swimming slots may not be available....we had an extremely disappointed 6 year old ...despite checking in at 2pm.

    Shame that standards have slipped.

Usually love this hotel but this stay was a disappointment. Hotel was extremely busy but the staff did not cope well with this. Queues everywhere. Check in took ages. Had to wait in a queue for half an hour for breakfast then when we were given a table there was lots of things not restocked. No plates, bread, juice glasses, fruit, milk, Danish pastries, eggs!!! It was a real let down.

    Not happy ..

Very disappointed with my experience !! I live in Liverpool and was out for a friends stag party so I treated him to stay at the Novotel just to make the experience a bit better as holiday abroad got cancelled. The room cost me £200. I was expecting a nice room for my money. I was wrong .. the toilet had no sink and was separated from the bathroom. Very dated the bed was ok. But just all felt I had been ripped off to be honest staff were great just overall very disappointed I might as well Stayed at home

    Pleasant stay

Nice hotel, great location, I'd stay again. Some of the staff members were more helpful than others. We ordered a family room as we have two young children, we arrived quite late in the evening to find there was no sheets or pillows for the sofa bed. There is no phone in the room so down my husband went to reception to get it sorted. Housekeeping arrived promptly but only brought one pillow. There also wasnt enough towels for a family in the bathroom so he had to go down again to sort that out. We booked a slot at the swimming pool and stopped by reception for towels along the way telling them we were going for a swim, it would have been good at that point if the man on reception would have told us we needed a key card for the entrance to the pool as we wouldnt of had to go back up again 2 minutes later... We noted that another family had been greeted in the restaurant and shown where everything is by a member of staff. Our waitress showed us to a table and went off to rearrange the chairs. All pretty minor things to complain about, but would have made for a more pleasant stay if all staff members were more helpful. Everything else was fine though, nice TV, Quiet room, Clean bathroom.

Good value for money. Central location. Friendly helpful staff. My only critique is that the beds were not the most comfortable, and additional pillows could also have been provided as we each only had one
