Mountain Star Lodge, Austin
Great stay in convenient location.
This was a nice property in a convenient area with lots of services nearby. The room was clean and comfortable. I'll definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. The property manager was particularly friendly and helpful.

Cozy, little hide away!
It was a very clean and pretty hotel. The staff that worked there were nice and I would totally stay there again. Cozy, little hide away.

Disappointing Stay
Didn’t care for this hotel. Desk clerk had trouble finding my reservation. I almost had to call for help. How difficult can it be to find a reservation under your first or last name? He even asked if it was under another name. The room was huge as we had a full living room space with kitchenette and separate bedroom. The bedroom and living room both had TVs but the bedroom one didn’t work as it wasn’t connected to any cable or anything. The front desk did warn us of it while checking in but that doesn’t make it any better. We’re paying for something we didn’t get, in my opinion. The living room tv had spotty reception and was constantly skipping/interrupting the signal. It also didn’t have any local channels so we couldn’t even watch the local news. The couch was uncomfortable and looked/felt like it came from a thrift store. There was also a 70s looking chair and ottoman in the bedroom with a huge stain right in the middle of it. The two ac units made weird clicking noises all night and the ceiling fan in the bedroom didn’t seem stable. It wobbled and seemed like it could fall so we slept without it. The overall feel of this room was just that of a cheap motel. For the money, I expected much much better. They did offer a continental breakfast but we were so disappointed already that we just left in the morning and ate elsewhere. It’s too bad because this place has potential but barring a complete overhaul, I won’t be back. My money is better spent elsewhere.

It was clean & nice but the price was outrageous for what it was. Unfortunately there was no wi-fi which was really inconvenient however the owner expressed concern and said the carrier had been called for repair. We asked for a room with a better view and even though most of the rooms were vacant they wanted to charge us extra. Not very good for customer relations.
