I stayed for one night in February 2019. Not as clean as it seems on the photo. place seems to be a bit run-down. Hotel should have more signages to warn people about the rules - quiet hours on the pod floors. There was a group of Spanish-speaking teenagers on my floor. They started speaking and laughing extremely loudly at 7am and didn't leave until ~8am. Despite multiple efforts to tell them it's disrespectful to other travellers, they continued to speak loudly. The incident was reported to the front desk before I check out.

I changed my plans at the last minute and was arriving late into Kyoto - so I decided to stay at the capsule hotel. It was great for a quick short stay. Well priced, organized and fantastic service. I would recommend this place if you are looking for cheap accomidations and spend little awake time at a hotel. I would stay again.

Clean but not comfortable
I froze in the showers because they keep all showers open and they are connected with each other through the public bath, which is NOT working (I have been here before like 6 months ago and it was not working also... so I suspect it never does). The "sanitary" ambient was oppressive in this visit, and the sound they play makes you feel in a plane... so it's not very comfortable for everybody. VERY CLEAN though. This is NOT for couple travelling unless you are from the same gender as the only open public space where two people from different genders can hang out is on the first floor which is very unwelcoming. The beds / capsules are in great shape, but the provided PJs are not and they stitch.

Stay here, you won’t regret
Very modern capsule type hotel in the middle of Kyoto city. High five for fluffy towels, quiet and clean sleeping pods, clean shower booth and wash room. I will far rather stay in Nine Hours’ pods, than staying in smoky old business type hotels for higher price. Additional points for the breakfast, which was 1000 yen Starbucks gift card. i.e. you can deduct 1000 yen from the listed hotel price, if you think that way.
