    Novotel The Vines

    The surrounds are quite beautiful and there is an abundance of wildlife around. The rooms are comfortable and clean. However, a lack of toiletries was very disappointing. All in one shampoo and conditioner in a fixed dispenser in the shower and a cake of soap. Our room door handle was broken but no attempts to fix it just instructions on how to manage it. You only get 1 coffee pod per person in the room and then you have to purchase more. Ours were wasted as the coffee machine leaked water everywhere. Some restaurants were fully booked despite there being many empty tables every time we walked past. Other restaurants ran out of certain foods. The external areas could do with a tidy up. Lots of plastic chairs stacked everywhere and rubbish all around them.

    A little run down but a pleasant enough stay.

    Our villa was lovely,clean and roomy but quite run down. The blinds need replacing, as do some of the furnishings. There were 3 bedrooms but only 2 with wardrobes/storage - quite disappointing, as the guests in that bedroom, were literally living out of their suitcases. The air-conditioning worked well during the hot weekend, bonus. A pleasant enough stay.

    Great spot, service needs some work!

    Great spot with plenty of amenities for the whole family and some spectacular views. The service, however was inconsistent. We made allowances given it was NY but even at that it screamed faulty towers at times. Many drinks were unavailable, pints of beer were in fact served in schooner plastic cups and on one night the bar maid literally said she ‘just couldn’t face making a cocktail’! Some staff were fantastic. Michelle in the cafe bar was experienced, polite and efficient, you just prayed she was working. I would return but my expectations would be lowered from this perspective.

    Beautiful room, great setting, shame about the service. Reception were great, bar staff not so much. No service round the pool, had to walk to main bar, negotiating awkward pool gates (lots of people unable to open them). WORST mojito I ever tasted, literally soda and lime cordial. Abrasive bar staff loudly informed me "you ll have to speak up, you re really quiet". How about teach your staff to wait for a break in people speaking (they were only using small area) before loudly refilling ice buckets or slamming glass washer door. Live music finished 9pm. Sat outside & had to move as planter riddled with cockroaches. Group of men at next table talking about their bowel habits, with same abrasive bar tender shouting directions to other staff & dragging tables around in the background. Perfect ambiance. Then vastly overpriced buffet breakfast that didn t even include fresh coffee. Never again.
