The Royal Hotel
"The room was lovely. Very clean. Lots of sachets for tea and coffee and biscuits. Comfy bed. Parking was just a cross the road. Breakfast was wonderful lots of choices. Staff were lovely and friendly."
Westbeach Holiday Apartments
"Excellent location , free parking , well equipped with every thing needed, & short walk to the beach, ,"
Instow Barton
"A wonderful dog friendly stay! The hosts are incredible and very friendly. The breakfast is plentiful, come hungry. The afternoon cake was a very nice and welcome touch. Ample parking as well, which can be a pain in Instow generally."
Hartland Quay Hotel
"We loved the friendly, open hearted staff. Our room was comfortable, and there was a lovely separate lounge with great views onto the sea. À nice little piano was sitting in there too, but it needs some TLC and à tune!"
The Royal George
"Enjoyable stay at what is perhaps best described as a fantastic restaurant with rooms. The restaurant overlooks the water and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. However our room was landside, with only a view of Irsha Street. Although small, the room and facilities were excellent. Fresh milk in the fridge is always much appreciated by us tea drinkers."
Durrant House Hotel
"Staff very helpful and friendly. Good service. Hotel dated but overall stay was good."
The Wayfarer Inn
"Very nice room with sea view, unfortunately very steep stairs to get there and as suffering mobility issues, not the best, although staff were not aware. Breakfast excellent, and evening meal for 7 highly commented on favourably, hot plates and food. Unfortunately a bout of food poisoning occurred overnight, although the source cannot be confirmed but suspected. Would recommend and stay again. Chair to be placed in room in September after renovations will be a bonus."
Old Pound Smithy
"Arrived late at our stay and then realised that we had in fact booked for the weekend after! Disaster after a 6 hour drive and very little options. We apologised and explained the error to our host. Amazingly and also luckily the host immediately went to work setting up an alternative glamping pod for us to stay in. The place was immaculate, hosts are extremely friendly and everything about the trip was perfect and as described. We will certainly be returning."

If you're in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels might provide a more personalized experience and potentially greater value. For more budget-friendly options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. You might also look into independent hotels located a bit further out, as they are usually more likely to be affordable and can offer a more authentic experience.
