The Toren, Amsterdam
Best darn hotel in Amsterdam!
I took my mum to Europe for her 77th birthday and decided upon the Toren for our stay in Amsterdam. I let them know ahead of time it was for this special event and when we checked into our canal view room there was a bottle of champagne, strawberries and truffles to welcome us! All of the staff were so attentive to our needs. We didn't come down to the front desk for a few days and they were very concerned and worried about it...we simply didn't need anything. They did help book our tickets to the Anne Frank House. The Toren is a little more expensive but considering all hotels in Amsterdam are expensive it was well worth it. The quality of this property, the attentiveness of the staff, the location and the cozy room made this trip memorable.

Beautiful, very friendly hotel
We stayed in the royal suite room 406. It was beautiful! The only thing it didn't have, (which I believe no room had) was a balcony. Or outdoor space. And I understand it's very difficult to get this in Europe. Especially with the age of the buildings. But our room was plenty big enough with lots of addition seating. And the staff were amazing. They would do anything for you. We were treated like royalty. Breakfast was 14euro and a very nice buffet. Again they would make eggs anyway you like at no additional cost. We had been in Europe for almost a month so comparing this price and quality of buffet, it was very good! If we ever return to Amsterdam we would defiantly stay in this hotel again.

The Toren, Amsterdam
Overall, the Toren was fantastic and I'd definitely stay there again. We had one of the standard rooms with three twin beds and it was spacious enough. The only "downside" is that the beds were a bit wonky in that they seemed to have a peak at the middle, so if you sat near the edges, you started to roll off the bed. Pretty minor criticism, though. The staff at the Toren were fantastic and had great restaurant recommendations in the area, and the decor was pretty neat. Would highly recommend it!

Romantic Amsterdam Get Away!
My wife and I just spent 4 nights at The Toren, at the recommendation of a business associate from Dortmund. It was indeed special and fantastic. We are celebrating our anniversary this week, and we could not have chosen a more romantic hotel with spectacular service. It was perfect. On our arrival the GM had left a surprise in our room, a bottle of Champagne, chocolates and a personal welcoming letter. Special. Thank you to a wonderful staff, from the front desk to the great lounge, with fantastic list of special gin and tonics. We enjoyed a different one each night for a nightcap, it was great.
