History and character
Love this hotel Its history is so fascinating. I much prefer an interesting Inn with a few quirks and slanted floors to a bland new building You just have to be careful not to bump your head on the low beams.

A lovely old inn
This very ancient Inn is a joy to behold, its' heritage has mostly been very carefully protected. We were made very welcome even though we arrived in the middle of a very busy Sunday lunch service. Our room was in the annexe called The Plaine, which is just across the road from the main inn. It was a standard room with a separate private bathroom (a few steps across the corridor). The bedroom was roomy, a very comfortable bed and well equipped. The bathroom was spacious, clean and had a lovely shower. We had our evening meal in one of the timbered dining rooms in The George which had a lovely fire in a large stone fireplace. We both had the 3 types of lamb dish which was delicious as were our puddings. All in all this was a very pleasant overnight stay and we'll definitely go back again, next time spending a little more on a room in the George.

AMAZING!!!!
Absolutely amazing and beautiful hotel with associated outbuildings and another pub to choose from too! Beautifully restored while retaining so many fantastic features. I sat by the open fire with a pint and I couldn't have been happier. The staff are attentive and friendly as well, don't think it could have got much better!
