Loved this 15th centure pub. Bedroom floors were a bit lop-sided but added to the character of the hotel. Restaurant/bar very nice. Bus stop right outside the front door - 3.5 pounds to Bath. Employees very helpful. I am still amazed at how much the young lady who served us could smile all day.

Staff were very nice, service was excellent, some noise in the evening & early morning as staff fetched items from the store which was under our room (Coombes)

This is an outstanding Inn. It's 12 miles from Bath, but there is a bus stop twenty yards from the door and you won't have to find parking in Bath - just watch the schedule as it's mainly for work commuters. The inn is over 700 years old and has well worn stone floors, great rooms, very good bathrooms, pub and dining room. The area is well worth a few days exploration with lots of trails. It is at a crossroads, but in addition to trucks, buses and cars, there's horses and the traffic was not bothersome at all - and the parking is free beside the inn.

All i can say is wow. A 700 year old lodge. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Big shout out to (sorry did not get your name) filling in for manager. He was there at 9 am for breakfast and still there for night caps. Rooms comfortable and unique. Breakfast was outstanding, lots of choices and so good.

Very cool place to stay... Relaxing while having a beer close to a fireplace. Close to bath, but it gives you the country living experience.

Overall, staying at this hotel was a great experience. The inn has great charm and history. The food (both in the Inn, as well as at the affiliated pub across the street) was very tasty. The staff were pleasant. The room, however, wasn't great. We specifically booked a double + two twin beds. What we were given was a double, with a pretty worn out sofa bed and a small fold-up cot. Additionally, if you come in the heat of the summer, it is stiflingly hot at night, as there is no AC and the fan provided gives little relief. Additionally, our booking (as shown on my form) included breakfast, but the hotel did not wish to honour this as they said the booking info they received from Expedia was as room-only price. The 'compromise' was to offer us breakfast on the second day of our stay only. I was put off by this. Anyway, the room and breakfast mess-up may have been Expedia's fault. We did enjoy staying here, but it's not comfortable on hot summer nights.

Love this hotel Its history is so fascinating. I much prefer an interesting Inn with a few quirks and slanted floors to a bland new building You just have to be careful not to bump your head on the low beams.

Property and town were interesting and we loved it. Staff seemed put out and were quite unfriendly and rude. Service was extremely slow and long waits for supper and especially breakfast which was cooked to death and arrived quite cold. This in stark contrast to any other property or restaurant in out visits to the U.K.

The George Inn is a nice hotel with loads of character but unfortunately we were moved across the road to the neighbouring Plaine Inn as they had no rooms. We did, however have dinner at the George Inn and it was lovely, just a shame we couldn't stay at the actual Inn. The room we were given had a private bathroom across the hall from the room; the bathroom was spacious and had all the amenities we required. The location is close enough to the Bath city centre, yet far enough to have quaint neighbourhood feel.
