    Great location and friendly staff!

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel during our 6 days in Amsterdam. It’s in a great location, right near the Museumplein and many transit stops. The street is quiet in the evenings and other than the schools nearby with playing kids during the day, it’s surprisingly relatively quiet for being so close to all the museums. We had a room on the main floor which was very handy but also ended up being noisy at times with (assuming) staff going up and down the stairs right next to the room and the people in the lobby or waiting for the elevator being loud at night not realizing there were a couple of guest rooms right next to them. Our first night, there was a screaming child that was likely brought down to the lobby to calm down at 2am but it was basically screaming right outside our door. There is an honesty bar in the lobby where guests could grab refreshments and submit on a sheet to the front desk to be charged to the room later. The staff were super friendly though. One concierge individual offered us an extra ticket to the Anne Frank house as it was an extra. Another, Thomas, was fantastic. He was so funny and friendly, gave us TONS of hidden gems around the city to check out. Definitely made our stay amazing.

Good place, close to all attractions. They don't change bed and towels every day. Poor cleaning service.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in the middle of May. Our travel agent had booked a standard room for our stay at this 4 star hotel. When we arrived the staff were friendly and the lobby decor charming and welcoming. The room we received was in the BASEMENT of the hotel and was dark, damp, smelly, and very poorly maintained - simply awful. The window for the room was small and about 8 feet away from the floor - clearly a fire hazard. We felt like we’d been relegated to the dungeon - it was horrible. Most definitely NOT A 4 STAR EXPERIENCE. I contacted guest services immediately but no other room was available until the next day and no rate adjustment provided!! Just shocking!! The room we switched to on day 2 was appropriate and met expectations. BUYER BEWARE!!

A great hotel to stay in Amsterdam. Close to the tram line, and walking distance to a number of great spots to visit. The staff where very knowledgeable about the area, friendly and helpful. Definitely would stay here again.
