Pretty decent place to stay
The staff were amazing. Friendly and approachable. Can't fault them. The room was absolutely fine. The decor is a little tired but the bed was comfortable. The bathroom could maybe have a touch-up but it was fine. It did the job. The only thing to note is that the hotel is not on a street with a road. It's a backstreet so, if you were taking a taxi, it can't reach the entrance. Use the hotel taxi that they can arrange for you. Makes it so much easier and it means that someone will meet you on the street to escort you from the taxi. The backstreet that the hotel is on is safer than it looks. The hotel actually has more than one building on that street (under different names so, be sure to remember which building you're in) so, there's always someone about. I never felt unsafe. There are a lot of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby and the hotel can recommend tours. I think the hotel is absolutely fine for what you pay.

The hotel is just OK, but the staff is great!
As others have stated, the photos are fairly misleading: The room I was given was quite small and the decor is very, very tired. Breakfast is fine, however and its location in the OQ, so close to St Joseph's, couldnt be much more convenient. That said, the staff is just great. Friendly, warm, accommodating. Didnt love the hotel but would stay again in heartbeat for the staff.

Awful experience.
The images of the exterior make it look like this hotel is on a quiet, clean street. It’s in a section of narrow alleyways with people around at all hours, next to a church that rings 2x/day outside your window. It’s in a very touristy, crowded area. They waited until AFTER check in to tell us we were going to be on the fourth floor of a walk-up with no elevator in the 2nd building. The hotel description says for accessibility there is an elevator, so I assumed it would be in all buildings. We refused that room as my parents are older so it was not possible. Finally, the staff are liars. The listing clearly states that the room amenities include washer/dryer. After checking the room and not finding it, I asked the concierge. They told me matter-of-factly that there is a washer/dryer in every room in the bathroom. I check again- nope. I go back down, and now they are adamant that they never said that, and that the only way to get laundry done is to give it to them to take out. I asked how much - “Free of charge” they told my dad in Vietnamese (I should have known better). We confirmed TWICE that it was free. Then, when we received the laundry done they said $2/kg. So, not only did they lie to me twice, the manager also gaslit me to tell me condescendingly that “nothing is free” and that they never said it was no charge, for me (a grown adult) to bring my elderly dad down “since there was a misunderstanding.” I refused as there was no point. We checked out early.

Very nice stay
The room we had was huge, way bigger than the other hotel rooms I had in Hanoi. Very friendly receptionists. No elevator in our building, separate from the main hotel. It had a view of the cathedral from our room. The only con was the church bells started ringing around 4:30am. Free breakfast was great, many options to choose from. We used the hotel taxi service to get to the airport. Convenient, but they were 15 minutes late. Would definitely stay here again and recommend if you don't mind the busy alleyway streets.

2.5-star hotel
First of all, we have to fault Hotels.com for advertising this hotel as a 4-star hotel with false information (like "connected to a shopping mall") without verifying the facts. At check-in, we were shown 2 options: a terrible room at the address or a room on 5th floor (no elevator, in a house across the street). Felt unsafe the whole time (could not lock front door to balcony, safe box is not attached to any room structure,...). Everything went downhill from there. One fair note - Breakfast was good but is exactly the same everyday. This is truly a 2.5-star hotel.

Right in the middle of Ha Noi
The hotel is in the centre of Ha Noi. It is on a street that is closed to cars making it interesting to get to by taxi. This should make it quiet but it wad not. Our first room was on the 5th floor, no lift although they did bring our bags up. It was next to the church and the bells rang until 11.00 and started at 5.00, so loud no chance of sleep. The room we moved to was quiet but very small, no safe and a window on to a brick wall. They arranged massage which was good. A very busy hotel. We didnt see a room that looked like the pictures.
