Profile: Myeongdong

Profile: Myeongdong

Myeongdong is a vibrant shopping district situated southwest of the City Hall in Jung. It’s one of the most visited areas in Seoul, and is a great spot to shop for upmarket brands or catch a fashion show in the spring or summer. This is a place where people come to see and be seen, and it’s a great spot to people-watch over some ox-bone soup or oyster pancakes.

The Gothic Myeongdong Cathedral is a stunning building that dates from 1894, and provides a tranquil place for reflection, while the bustling Namdaemun Market is the largest traditional market in Seoul.

Amazing Hotel with exceptional staff and service.

Absolutely fantastic hotel, excellent staff and service. Highly recommended. Very international and inclusive. I was on a solo trip but also had some business. I have little to no Korean language skills, so the staff made my trip and stay great! Thank you Sejong Hotel. Your employees are great ambassadors. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Large rooms but need updating.

The location is great and the rooms are larger than a normal room in the area (there was room for a table and a desk in the room). Staff was very plesant and the lobby is great. However if looks like the rooms were built in the 80s and not touched sinced. A few wall cracks and not enough outleta. Bed was firm but comfy. The weirdest thing was that the tv channels would only work half the time. I stayed here for around 60,000₩ and wouldn't pay more.

We were given a standard room next to a vertical garden wall and one floor above the garden. We were uncomfortable and requested another room. The staff was nice and changed a different room one more floor up. We waited and rest in the first room until the room was available. A good arrangement.

The room was very very dusty, my brother had asthma attack, his skin felt so itchy & air condition was not working well, it's giving hot air instead of making the room cold & comfortable. When we reached out to the hotel reception asking them to transfer us to another room, they gave us electric fan and reasoned that the hotel was fully booked! How's that for KRW 858,980 for 2 nights??? Not worth the price!!! Even 1 star hotel can give a run for their money!
