A good 3.5 star hotel with some annoying aspects
Iberostar Grande is a very good 3.5 star hotel, but not a 5 star as claimed. It definitely lacks the basic amenities and services of a 5 star hotel. The aspects to consider choosing this hotel are: 1) 4 classes of rooms, from small rooms having no windows to a mini suite; 2) minimal services and stingy supplies: one bottle of water per check-in, no tea or decaf coffee, no shaving kit, no doorman, small lobby, 6 sq m area and only 2 phones allocated for reception/ cashier and concierge, no land telephone lines; 3) poor house keeping with staff coming into room even when ‘do not disturb’ sign is placed on the door handle; 4) a confrontational general manager who should never be in the service industry; 5) it is about 10 minutes walk to downtown (tthe ‘eye of Budapest’) hence quieter. In summary, check what class of room one is booking. The lower 2 classes of room are not worth more than 200 USD per day at any time. Also check if city tax is included.

The Really Grand Hotel
The hotel is in a prime location in the pest side of Budapest. We were able to walk to most places from the hotel. The hotel staff were always friendly and very helpful. Our room was lovely - comfortable bed and great view.

Great hotel!
Excellent location near parliament. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Sparkling wine at check-in was a nice bonus. Room was nice, large, and very clean. Definitely recommend!

High-end comfort, great location
Friendly professional welcome, comfortable bed, strong shower, fantastic location for tourists. The hotel restaurant appears to be closed and the bar atrium area is a bit soulless, but there's plenty of tourist-oriented bars and restaurants in the surrounding streets. Didn't take breakfast - at Eur 23 it was pricey, and the selection appeared to be quite limited.
