Overall a great experience at the TRS Yucatan. A few great aspects of the resorts are the amenities (spa, restaurants, house keeping staff), butler service, and five star restaurant experience. A few areas of opportunities that the resort can improve are the service system in the restaurants (at times I felt rushed and forgotten during service and had to ask staff for a few things.), the shade aspect around the pool areas, and lastly the accessibility to cart service around the resort (cart service being few and far in between.).

Let me start by saying we were last at this resort in 2012 when it was The Royal Suites. It’s been rebranded as TRS Yucatan but it’s still part of Palladium and essentially the same resort. The resort is quite tired and is in need of updates. The mattresses are very old and extremely uncomfortable. Rooms are ok, there are mirrored walls in the bathroom that don’t need to be there as well as chipped tiles and wall coverings in the hallways. The two chairs on our floor that were in a common waiting area had graffiti all over them. Food was meh. Best we had was in El Gaucho and Tentazione. Buffets were mediocre at best and despite some people still wearing masks around the resort, people have no qualms about using communal serving ware in a buffet setting. I was a little surprised to see this after Covid. Kind of gross. Employees are all very friendly and try to be helpful. Having said that, service is quite slow everywhere we ate. We did try the spa and found the services ok. Not great, just ok. Pretty expensive also for what you get. We did not leave the resort the whole time we were there as we were just looking for rest. You won’t find much of that here. The music beats are pumping from 9 am on. We were shocked to find the music absolutely blaring at 2 am. We had no idea this was the case at this resort. We changed rooms because of the noise as well as faulty A/C. NOTE: Beach is almost non existent and not swimmable. Another big surprise.
