Lovely pub with great food, hosts and staff
Hosts Darren and Simone were very welcoming and the staff couldn't have done more to make me feel welcome. Food was excellent. Recommend the homemade game pie and treacle sponge if it's on the menu. I stayed in double room number 2. Very clean and comfortable. Only negative was the shower pressure which was quite poor. Overall a pleasant stay and would recommend.

Can't Praise the Plough Enough
A great place to stay. Located 4 miles from Whitby and has everything you need. We couldn't fault anything. Darren and Simone the hosts are exceptional and cant do enough for you and as for the breakfast ... Wow.. quality produce and plenty of it . I cant say that we have ever had a better one (you wont need lunch !!). We also chose to eat there one evening and the standards were just as good and the bar staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Great location, lovely pub, great food and a warm welcome from the owners as well as pretty much every regular that came into the bar. Breakfast was big enough for two and certainly plenty to see you for the day ahead. Would happily stay again and would highly recommend.

Will come again . . .
Welcoming and pleasant place: good food, basic, comfortable rooms. Scrupulously clean.

We were made to feel so welcome with nothing too much trouble. Food was excellent all staff polite. Rooms were clean and toiletries included. The odd mark on walls and floor coverings could do with updating but it’s an old pub so not an issue. Yes we would definitely stay again and the price was very reasonable.
