The Pier Hotel, Limerick

Good location, good value. Restuarant on site for convenience. Close to shopping district

I liked the hotel's central location. I didn't like Expedia stating I had to pay at the hotel... Yet when I went to pay, I was told Expedia paid them already that day with my credit card - Make it clear to the customer if and when $ is being transferred - Don't say one thing (I printed out the reservation and confirmation, which stated payment would be dealt with by the hotel) and do another!!!! Not impressed Expedia!

We had a little trouble finding the parking garage and found that we couldn't check into the garage before 6pm and had to be out before 10am or we had to pay extra. The room was the smallest we've seen so far (about 2 foot space on either side of the bed) and the bathroom was huge in comparison. The location was great - many pubs, restaurants & shopping within a short walk. The lady at the front desk was fantastic - very friendly and knowledgeable.

We stayed here 3 years ago, and were disappointed, but thought it might have improved., so we booked it again. ,,,,,,fool me twice.... We exited the tiny elevator onto our floor and the memories of our previous trip came flooding back to me. Bags of soiled linens were stacked up by the lift and in the hallways. Our room was small and the walls paper thin. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, nor any other sources of "white noise". The TV was mounted on a corner wall and the power cord dangled out beneath it. Because the room was so small and stuffy we had to sleep with the windows open and were at the mercy of the other guest night time noise which included one lady engaged in some audacious sexual act that commenced at 4:30 am. The bed was uncomfortable with springs felt near the surface of the thin quilted top. The toilet was hit and miss for flushing, and we woke up on the second morning to no hot water. In other reputable hotels we have stayed at where such problems occur, the staff will slip a note under your door advising when the issue will be resolve. But at this place, the poor young lady at the front desk was left to field calls from unhappy guests and those who chose to complain in person. The hot water issue was rectified by 10 am, but long after the majority of guests had left.

Rooms are clean and bright, but beds are a little rough. Great location, and it's fabulous to have parking included.

The room is too small, it's freezing and I can hear every movement in the next room or above me. The bathroom is OK nice and clean. The view of the shannon river is amazing.

Rooms very gruppy curtains dirty. Noise and fire alarm went off. Street very busy outside people roaring and shouting.
