Something different and fun!
This hotel presents a very interesting experience! On one hand, the grounds are beautiful- lots of plant life, wildlife, and views for miles. The service is first-rate- the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful- even in planning your adventures for the day. Breakfast at the nearby restaurant is also a treat- the employees there are really nice and the food is good. On the other hand, this place is "out of the way" on top of a steep ridge. The rooms, while very nice, are admittedly rustic and at times you may feel as though you're camping out with a comfy bed and TV. (especially while catching glimpses of the ground below your cabin through the cracks in the floor). We stayed here as a way to break up what would have been a long drive between Quepos and Arenal, and it was perfect. Watching a distant lightning storm from our balcony was a bonus and the kids loved exploring the trails reachable from the hotel grounds and picking and eating blackberries from the vines next to a cabin. Overall, a fun place to stay for a day or two.

Away from the noise and hustle bustle
If you want isolation away from the city you find it here. Just off the Divide it is windy and chilly at night. Pack accordingly. Staff is first rate.
