Old Dated Hotel, good location
Hotel was in a good location but was very dated. the room was big enough but was old and very warm. the ceiling fan didnt work so we did have the windows open all the time and there was alot of noise from outside.

Thought of everything.
Easy to find. Central location. efficient friendly checkin. Clean, comfortable and just the right room temperature. Outstanding thought has been given to what the traveller may need to make their stay a good one...eye mask, shoe shine pad, earplugs, sewing kit, shower cap, quality toiletries including hand/body cream etc. Breakfast had a good range and service was extremely efficient and helpful. Decor in corridors a bit tired but i’ll Definitely be back.

Great location if you don’t need to sleep
I stay at the Cosmopolitan at least 4 times a year but sadly have seen such a deterioration recently that I doubt very much I will stay there again The first room I was given was not cleaned very well, the toiletries had been half used, there was hair in the sink and bath and suspicious stains on the cushions. The bath had recently been painted and bits of white paint was flaking off. The smell of paint was horrendous In fairness to the staff when I complained they moved me immediately and the second room was cleaner. On the second night there was a ‘cabaret’ event going on and everyone was having such a fantastic noisy time it was literally impossible to get any sleep. At 6am it sounded like the party was continuing in the room above and next door I didn’t get opportunity to complain when I checked out as the queue was so long I would have missed my train had I waited to be spoken to. Very sad as it used to be such a lovely place to stay

Problems with no hot water
I have stayed at this hotel many times and never had a problem but I did this time I staid for the Thursday and Friday and left Saturday first thing I brought my problems to the desk there was no hot water at all on the Saturday morning to shower or wash which was a big problem as we were travelling to Essex but the lady on the desk agreed and said oh yes another guest has mentioned that but the boiler was mended last week I was rather disappointed with her reaction
