    Trutch Delivers

An excellent experience! Wonderful heritage house with all one might expect. Wonderful wood paneling and stairs suitable for an impressive entrance. Antique furniture abounds with modern kitchen as a contrast. For those wanting to “step back in time” a perfect four! Located within a few minutes drive of the inner harbour or the sea coast drive and the grounds at government house. In B&B tradition, an excellent breakfast is available hosted by Pierre to get your day off to great start!

    Trutch Manor Get Away

The location was great in terms of walkability - 20 minutes to downtown and the inner harbour. Two buses are within a couple of blocks of Fairfield and Cook streets. The manor is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood. The suite had all the amenities I needed; small kitchen and living room. The furniture was a bit tired but totally functional. It was a treat to have breakfast included. Loved the waffles with fresh berries, whipped cream and maple syrup with scrambled eggs. Sherrin is a wonderful hostess along with her wingman Pierre.

The breakfast was hosted and waited by a rude man, His name was Pierre and he bragged about how he opened hotels all around the world. He made me and my girlfriend very uncomfortable by asking were we finished while we still ate. I got a business call and stepped away from the table for 2 minutes. On my return the breakfast was gone and so was my coffee and cup with no way to replenish. My girlfriend told him I wasn't finished but he grunted and said something along the lines of "Well then he shouldn't have left the table". He was snooty to other guests that asked for poached egg and was writing a list of who came in first and second etc, even though the breakfast was ordered and requests put in the previous night. There seemed to be a shortage of plates and stove space which was causing the sense of panic. It was like an episode from Fawlty Towers but it wasn't funny at the time. I will never stay there again and the experience has totally turned me

Very disappointing stay. Begins with long wait as the host can not operate computer to find the reservation. Then another long wait to enter the building as the host cannot find the key to main door and the key used got jammed in the lock. Inside the room there is no door between the kitchen and the bedroom (which is tolerable) but there is also no door between the bathroom and the bedroom. When you rest on the bed, your head is less than 2 meters away from a toilet and between you and the toilet there is only a flimsy curtain. I’ll leave it up to your imagination how you deal with the noises or smells... Then comes breakfast. Even though you pre-book what you want a day before, you still be waiting about 45 minutes for your plate. The quality of breakfast served is not up to standard known from other bed and breakfast places. To top up this not pleasant experience, imagine my wife’s surprise to discover in her breakfast one meter long black hair... No I do not recommend this place.
