So close to Haymarket Station
The room was a bit on the shabby side, but utterly charming with extremely high ceilings in a well maintained older townhouse. The location was very close to the train station at Haymarket, and easily walkable in less than 5 mins. The new urban rail system is also handy for getting into the city center. Downside was taking the stairs up to the third floor.

Great position but scruffy and old
Not bad for money and location but could be amazing with a bit of time, effort and money

Lovely old hotel with many original features and mixed with some modern features such as bathrooms. Spacious room comfy bed and great hosts. Excellent location for town and sightseeing and of course teams and buses. Continental breakfast which set you up for the day nicely.

ok value but needs a refurbishment
We stayed 2 nights in August for access to the fringe festival. The location is great, 1 min from a tram stop or a mile from the castle. The staff at the hotel were great, my wife is pregnant and they got us a fan and opened the old style windows which was a great help. The hotel is tired and in need of a revamp. The entrance hall has a smell which is unfortunate. The room was ensuite, with a 4 poster. The decor was tired and room was in need of proper maintenance. Howeverit had tea, coffee, iron and a safe. As a city break hotel it wasnt bad value at all. It just needs a bit of care to impress future guests
