Hotel Graphy Nezu, Tokyo
far hotel from station.
The hotel standard hs gone down a lot. Room not cleaned well, floor scratched and dusty shelves. If you asked some of the staff questions all they said was they did not know. Really far from Ueno to walk especially when it is raining or cold. Would not recommend this hotel again.

Good hotel itself, staff was actually really decent, but it was happened flooded with rude fellow tourist that is either just creepy or unfriendly, plus family with kids crying one in the morning. The neighbourhood was sort of okay, well manner people with occasional speeding cars that is rare in Japan, but you are close to the museum which is a plus.

Friendly staff, location was ok...
We booked through and at first we booked one night, then later we decided to book a second night so that we could explore Tokyo and surrounding areas for longer. For some reason I couldn't get the same price on the 2nd night, so instead of adding an extra night, I had to make a separate booking through When we got to the hotel we were told we had to change rooms (apparently the booking for the second night was for a smaller bed). Staff made the move easy for us and explained that if we were out during check-out time (11 am), they would move our luggage for us, which they did. We arrived at 8 am and even though we were unable to check-in, they held our luggage for us until we were able to so that we could go explore the city freely. The staff were friendly and helpful and pleasant to deal with. Most staff we met spoke English. The location was ok. It was close to the Ueno Zoo and park. It is a 4-min walk to Nezu Station (not covered by JR Pass), and about a 15-min walk to Ueno Station (covered by JR Pass) where you can walk through the scenic park to get to the station. The rooms were not the smallest rooms we stayed in while visiting Japan. I would say it was somewhere in the middle with regard to 'size of hotel room'. They contained all the necessities for a two-night stay. The washrooms were smaller in comparison to other hotels we stayed at in Japan.

Good option for a few nights
Overall good service. The breakfast is good. The room was very clean. The nezu metro station is 10min walking from the hotel and ueno station is 20min walking distance. Very quiet neighborhood

Good hostel
Hotel Graphy Nezu was really good. A fun place to stay. The rooms were clean however there was some mold on the windows and I pointed it out to them. The bathroom is a bit small and inconvenient as it is raised quite high. Room is clean however taking out shoes and putting them on again at the reception was a bit inconvenient but it helps maintain the overall cleanliness of the place. Met many people there and had a great time in the many lounges, restaurant and kitchen.
