disappointment!
how could the manager of this hotel, when it was clearly not busy accomodate guests on the most noise room? rooms facing the street, so over main hotel entrance are noise with traffic and music from bars nearby, no air conditioning. wallpaper delamination by humidity on the elevators hall, very bad impression, molt everywhere. when in a the shower be prepared for a weat floor on complete bathroom.

Great hotel!
This hotel surpassed my expectations. The hotel and rooms were clean and kept up. The decor in the room was a little dated but clean and included a fridge which was nice. The rooms were a little noisy (you could hear people in the next rooms) but we have found that this is very common in Brazil. Hotels are just different here than they are in the U.S. The front desk staff was very nice, spoke English and willingly gave suggestions and answered any questions we had. The stay included free breakfast which was fruit, breads, juices, coffee, eggs and sandwich fixings (standard Brazilian breakfast). The hotel also has wifi which was great. We were able to surf the internet with no problems, but it was a little slow for FaceTime/skype. The location is very close to downtown Canela and only a 10 minute drive to the waterfalls, also only a 10 minute drive to downtown Gramado. I would stay here again.

Hotel in Canela, close to Gramado
Although the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the lack of air conditioning in the rooms was quite disappointing. In addition, when I noticed that I was paying for the room quite more than the rates shown at the counter, they only said that it was because I had used Expedia. I have been using Expedia for a long time and this has not happened before. Since I speak Portuguese very well - I grew up in Brazil - there was no misunderstanding about what they said. This made me very uncomfortable.
