Beaconsfield Inn, Victoria

Lovely setting...very contentious staff who insured we had everything we needed. Breakfast was served between 0830 and 0900 hrs... could have had a longer time span. Needed a heater for the upstairs suite.

Wonderful B&B. great character home, in walking distance to downtown and Beaconhill Park. Plumbing is old, so hot water takes a while, and shower is 'European'. Breakfast is great! very fresh and perfect portions. A little gem of a place. Looking forward to visiting again.

Great location but oversold on the 'excellence' part. I found a dirty washcloth from a previous visitor under my night stand and the furnishings just looked tired. Antiques yes, but wobbly legs don't make for a secure sit. Breakfast was good with attentive service and freshly prepared custom menu items but frankly for the price point I was underwhelmed. Check in is limited to a brief window in the afternoon and outside of that window there is no one available to assist with any aspect of a stay. There were no recent awards or commendations and I wondered if the venue had been sold and the new owners and operators were trying to find their business model.

We love staying in a Victorian style Inn. The décor was beautiful, right up to the gigantic bath tub. Very relaxing. I'm gluten free and both of my breakfast where very good. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Breakfast delivery was very good. Constructive criticism would be the pancakes - they were too dense/heavy- not light and fluffy! presentation was great though!
