I was contacted after volcanic and seismic activity on the island to reassure me that the facility and highways to it were unaffected. Needed late checkin and was easily accomodated. Gorgeous room (studio) with a walk out patio. Very modern style with large TV and all appliances you need for comfort (including A/C!). The pool has an incredible view and Punalu'u Black Sand Beach is a 10 minute walk away

Nice condo, cool to meet a local family that lives there & the location near the beach, golf & highway was a highlight. We drove the scenic 45 minutes to Hilo for dinner &/or groceries as there is not much in Naalehu & Pahala.

Very nice condos, well equipt, no A/C when very hot outside. Barbecue available by the pool for everyone to use. Walking distance of black sand beach with the possibility of snorkling with the turtles

two reprimands from the grounds manager, not so much what was said it's more her rudeness, general demanding and harsh presentation. first happened a few days ago b/c I took a ceramic plate to the bbq - if it fell onto concrete and broke it would shatter she said and what about our innocent children? then point to a sign high on a post saying no ceramic plates allowed. I apologized and noticed another BBQ'er had the same but must have been an owner b/c she said a couple things to him joking but didn't mention his ceramic plate - generally patronizing tone with me but quite courteous to others. Then 2nd was last night over a parking pblm - there is limited parking in front and we've been able to park there, w our parking pass displayed, so far but last night there were two vehicles w/o parking passes (I assume locals) so I thought I'll park in a turnaround area for an hr or so until the locals left - w/o passes they should be towed is what is posted. Anyway w/i a half hr a knock came at our front door from the lady who said she'd tow me if I didn't move - I tried to explain I was just waiting for these two non-registered cars to leave but she said rudely, 'you'll move your car, got it!' I said she appeared to want to argue and I didn't want confrontation - that didn't seem to make any difference. I asked her to not use a patronizing tone with me. She said she wanted the car moved now. She ended the conversation abruptly, I moved the car

Nice hotel close to Black Sands beach. Very nice staff. Rooms were clean. We got up early next day and watched the sunrise at the beach. You have to drive to nearby towns for meals or food.

We stayed 6 nights, the ground level entry and easy parking made it easy coming and going. The landscaping was very beautiful and overlooking a gulf coarse. We enjoyed watching turtles at Black sand beach just 5 minute walk. You don't want to go here for the golfing, potential is there for a nice course but it is so neglected with tall grass and weeds on the fairway. Always make sure you do the bulk of grocery shopping before leaving Kona as it is quite remote. We loved it there very quiet and restful.

They neglected to mention that the hot tub was not working, and the golf course needs mowed.
