Overpriced, but OK during the festival.
During the Edinburgh festival seasons prices are dispropotionaly high and this place was quite good for £75 a night. I would expect much more outside of the festival season for that money but it is a short bus ride, 30 min walk from Fringe venues. Nice to have en suite in a student housing block in Scotland though. No breakfast provided, but nearby there are two good breakfast spots (Crumbs and Bluebird cafe). Stockbridge is a short walk away too.

Freedom of Edinburgh
Princes Street is within walking distance of the residence. The history of the area is saturated in facts, just investigate a little. The buildings and memorials are masonry works of art. The transport system works. The people are friendly, a smile always forthcoming without hesitation. All in all, a wonderful city, good central residence. Close to supermarkets and transport.

Cheap, but with some drawbacks
Room small and spare, which we expected, but the bed was SUPER uncomfortable, which we did not. We also arrived in the middle of a rare heatwave, and the windows don't open -- I realize Scotland rarely gets any real hot weather, but it was MISERABLE in the room without the option of letting the cool air in. However, the neighborhood is cute with some good cafes for breakfast, and the laundry facilities were a godsend. Just go in the fall or winter and you'll be fine.

Good accommodation but too hot
Meeting a friend in Edinburgh. Rooms were adequate, but so hot! Hallways were stifling, and no air movement in rooms. Sleeping was not comfortable.

I would stay again
Good room for the cost. Very secure. Room reasonably comfortable. Prince Street a reasonable walk. Supermarkets, food & drink very close.
