Location was really good. Close to lots of bars & restaurants, subway, highline, Chelsea market & Greenwich village. We stayed for a week which was a bit too much when using shared bathrooms & toilet. It's a great place for a few nights I would say & fabulous for backpackers. Breakfast was plentiful & although we didn't use it, it was a nice little touch with the complimentary wine hour in the evenings.

It’s quaint and fun, if you like stairs
This is a very special, but slightly different place to stay. It is well located to visit everywhere in and around New York and is just over an hour to get to from JFK. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small where I was on the top floor. This place is not ultra modern, but this is more than made up by its quaintness. The bathrooms on the top two floors are modern and very clean, which makes up for them being shared. The beds were very comfortable. My visit was close to Halloween and both the Colonial Inn Hotel and local property’s made an effort, people even drove up to have photos taken. The roof garden is fabulous and on one night someone was practicing their saxophone, which was very enjoyable. This property will not suit people who do not enjoy steps or stairs, but if you want a traditional bed and breakfast and great coffee, this might be the place for you. Thank you for looking after my son and Ion our six day stop.

Naked man on hallway(where is not allowed) and people are allowed to be naked on roof too but it wasn’t never mentioned on the website. If you want avoid this situation don’t go.

Cute & Convenient
Really cute and in a very convenient location if you are traveling via megabus. It’s a 7 min walk from where they drop you in Manhattan and 25 min scenic high line walk to where the megabus departures are. It’s not as clean feeling as a hotel, but rather feels like you are staying in someone’s guest bedroom in their home. It is clean and well taken care of, and not at all a bother for me, but if you want something sterile I don’t think you will enjoy your stay. The bathrooms are in the hallways, not in your room. But they are clean and have showers. They are single restrooms with a lock and they’re on every floor. I missed the breakfast but it smelled amazing. Good coffee! And as we were leaving, we were offered some bagels even though we were way passed the breakfast time :-) I felt safe and comfortable. I’m really glad I stayed here. Thank you! (There’s also a roof patio, that I didn’t have a chance to check out, but isn’t that cool??)

Decent accommodations
It’s a fine place to stay. Simple room with sink and decent WiFi throughout. Bathrooms were clean, but only one per floor. Never had a problem with it being used when I wanted to. Breakfast was fine. Lots of carbs with a few additional items. Overall it was good, just priced high because time of year - if I returned during peak season I would investigate a hostel with similar accommodations at 1/3 of the cost .
