    Not the service we expected.
My husband wanted to stay here as it was brand new, and he got a room for a really good deal. However, since we used a third party (hotels.com) we arrived to find that the Hyatt had overbooked and so they moved us to a Hampton inn a few blocks away...no email warning from Hotels.com or Hyatt...as well, the Hyatt staff sent us to the Hilton Gardens, the closer hotel, but still incorrect, so by the time it was all figured out, with an inferior room, I must add, we lost 2 hours of our travel time, which prevented our family from trekking down to explore Providence that evening. Highly disappointing. What is to prevent a hotel from reneging on a contract and offering inferior rooms in the neighbouring older hotels? When I complained tohotels.com, I got a terrible response. There’s been no effort on either party to compensate.

Construction noise and shady looking neighbourhood
Front desk staff were great! Very friendly! Hotel was clean and breakfast was good and plentiful with lots of variety. Beds were just ok, pillows were not good. There's construction across from the hotel on the "pool view" side. This will last for quite a while as they're putting up a high rise building. We could hear the work crews at 7am sharp so there was no sleeping in. The area was not convenient for walking to sites or even food or convenience items. There's a Wendy's and McDonald's nearby but that's it. We used über during our stay and our rides back to the hotel at night made us realize this was not a great area. I wouldn't recommend walking around if you don't know the area, especially at night.

Very swift check in. No issues. The room was very nicely laid out and more than adequate for our needs. The staff were very nice and welcoming. When coming back to the District of Columbia this hotel will be the choice to make.

Great Staff – Rooms need a little love
The staff were amazing, especially Jessica H. and Reco W. I commend them for their great customer service! The hotel room had a few minor deficiencies. The light next to the bed would not stay lit, must be a loose wire. And the faucets were not the right size for the sink (hands had to be touching back of sink just to get wet) and the water pressure was really poor.

Hotel is very convenient to the metro. There was a less than pleasant odor in the room. Otherwise, the staff was great.

    Hyatt Review
Overall the hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfast buffet was okay, they had the typical quick breakfast items, the food was lukewarm. The location of the hotel is horrible, the street is very congested as an apartment/loft area is directly across the street. The heading is misleading as you can not see Capital Hill- I actually booked this hotel in error thinking it was the Hyatt Regency. Would I stay again....I doubt it based on the location and the congestion.

Neighbor hood is development area. It’s not safe at night walk around. Price is little high I guess it’s the name you pay for.
